Acres Enterprises
BC Region: Southern Interior (SICA)
Acres approaches workplace culture as more than a value statement; it’s a core operating system supported by leadership focus, consistent expectations, and real programs that help people feel safe, valued, and able to grow.
They understand the value of tracking workforce data in order to inform hiring efforts, development planning, and inclusion initiatives. They continue to widen access, reduce barriers, and build a workplace where all employees can contribute, develop, and succeed without fear of bullying, harassment, hazing, or discrimination.
Acres believes there’s a person under every hard hat, and a hard hat shouldn’t have to act like armour. They believe culture is what protects people – through respect, support, and leadership that has their back, and this is what being a Culture Champion means: doing the work consistently, holding the standard, and helping move the industry forward.
IDL Projects Inc.
BC Region: Northern BC (NRCA)
IDL’s culture is guided by four core values: Take Care of Each Other, Build Great Things, Have Fun, and Be Innovative. These values shape how they lead, how they manage risk, how they treat one another, and how they make decisions.
They don’t view workplace culture as a program or initiative. Instead, it’s embedded into how the company leads, plans work, and measures success. They believe that a strong culture is the foundation of safety, performance, and long-term sustainability. Diversity at IDL is not viewed as a target – it’s viewed as an outcome of strong systems, respectful culture, and intentional leadership.
When it comes to supporting the community, they understand that giving back is not separate from culture – it’s an extension of their commitment to taking care of each other and building a better industry for the future.
